The trainers of the Intellectual Property Training Centre will be
prepared for the global trend of active transition to the electronic mode of
teaching and in this regard they will acquire necessary knowledge, tools and
skills related to digital industry.
The major event worldwide in the field of trademarks – the Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association (INTA) was opened today, on November 16, 2020 and is held virtually. The delegation of Georgia, headed by Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Chairman of Sakpatenti, will participate from November 16 to November 20, 2020 in various type of activities including educational, networking and working group sessions.
The Competition of Young Inventors and Researchers “Leonardo da Vinci”, which is aimed to arouse interest towards innovations and technology among pupils and develop their creative thinking and practical skills, this year has taken place remotely. The commission which was headed by Mr.Vasil Giorgadze, Head of Mechanics Section, Department of Inventions and New Varieties of Plants and Breeds of Animals, Sakpatenti, ranked the invention project “Queue Control System” as the winner.
Sakpatenti Training Center, within the framework of series – “trainings tailored to the needs”, conducted a workshop for the young entrepreneurs working in the field of social entrepreneurship and green innovation in regions of Georgia.
Lawyers and judges of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) shared the USPTO practice on trademark and patent disputes with their Georgian counterparts. The webinars which took place in three series from October 5 to November 3, 2020, were organized within the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the United States Department of Commerce.
Sakpatenti Training Centre has started training series tailored to needs. The first working meeting took place with the staff members of the National Scientific Library of Tbilisi State University. On October 29, 2020, the remote training was delivered for them on all significant issues related to copyright.
An online meeting of the top officials of Sakpatenti and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) was held within the annual meetings of the Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) which took place in the hybrid format this year. Mr. Christian Archambeau, EUIPO Executive Director, and Mr. Mindia Davitadze, Sakpatenti Chairman, overviewed the ongoing projects under the Memorandum of Understanding, discussed latest developments in the offices and outlined future plans.
The National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti has launched professional development of front office employees, which is aimed to increase effectiveness of Sakpatenti services related to registration of various intellectual property subject-matters, services rendered to customers with respect to patent applications and ensuring high quality of consultation and communication.
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) has a new Chief Executive. Sakpatenti Chairman Mr. Mindia Davitadze held the first remote meeting with his counterpart.
