In spite of the situation caused by the current pandemic, the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti continues its functioning and provides its full services to users. International publication World Trademark Review article recognized, that Sakpatenti is one of the intellectual property offices worldwide which fully shifted its operations to teleworking and has not had any disruption in its activities.
The Chamber of Appeals operating at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti continues its functioning in the teleworking mode without interruption.
Sakpatenti is the first non-EU IP office which has aligned its practice of design representation with the common practice of the IP offices of the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN).

Today, on February 11, 2020, Mr. Miguel Angel Domínguez Morales, President of the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), paying an official visit to Georgia, was handed over the certificate of registration of “Tequila” as a collective mark at the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia SAKPATENTI. The visit of the delegation of the Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), aimed to popularize Tequila on the Georgian market as well as to facilitate the export of Georgian wine to the Mexican market and to cooperate in this direction, continues for two days.
In the framework of cooperation of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the LEPL National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia SAKPATENTI, the WIPO Academy Distance Learning Course - General Course on Intellectual Property (DL101GE) has become available in the Georgian language, free of charge. The course is open for any person interested in the intellectual property rights.
