On September 17-19, Mr. Sherif Saadallah, Executive Director of WIPO Intellectual Property Academy paid a second official visit to Sakpatenti.
Within the WIPO professional development program, Mr. Saadallah will open the international English-language “Training Course on Geographical Indications”, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy and the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia Sakpatenti Training Centre, which will be held in Georgia for already the second time.
As of today, the electronic office management system was fully launched at Sakpatenti. The system allows paperless exchange of internal documentations. The system simplifies and renders more effectively the process of tracking various tasks and enables permanent monitoring
As a result of the activities conducted by the Food and Veterinary Agency of the Republic of Latvia, goods infringing rights on the geographical indication “Churchkhela” were removed from the channels of commerce.
Sakpatenti has joined WIPO CASE - Centralized Access to Search and Examination platform administered by WIPO. The WIPO CASE system enables patent offices to securely share search and examination documentation related to patent applications in order to facilitate work sharing programs.
On July 21-22, 2018, the Workshop on Adjudication of Civil Intellectual Property Infringement Cases took place in Batumi with the participation of Georgian judges. The workshop was organized by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the U.S. Department of Commerce and the United States Embassy in Georgia.
