Today, on May 17, 2018, National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti is organizing a meeting with small and medium business representatives. During the meeting issues of IP management, branding strategy, its economic significance and protection mechanisms are discussed. Along with this, within the Project, Sakpatenti representatives will hold individual meetings with interested companies, will assess the intellectual property assets of the companies and assist them in drafting an IP portfolio.
Today, on May 15, 2018, the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti is organizing a workshop “Overview of Activities and Practice of the Boards of Appeals of European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO)”. The meeting, aim is to introduce to interested parties the EUIPO’s Boards of Appeals practice and experience, will be led by Mr. Theophile Margellos, President, Boards of Appeal, EUIPO, Mr. Sven Stürmann , Chairman, 2nd Board of Appeal, EUIPO, and Mr. Gordon Humphreys, Chairman, 5th Board of Appeal, EUIPO.

On May 2-3, 2018, at Mtskheta Office of the National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti a two-day workshop on e-filing system of international trademark applications was held for examiners of the Department of Trademarks, Geographical Indications and Design of Sakpatenti.

It is important to reflect on ways to ensure increasing number of women and girls engagement across the globe in innovation and creativity. The current theme of the World Intellectual Property Day presents an opportunity to highlight how the intellectual property system can support innovative and creative women in their quest to bring their amazing ideas to market.
Representatives of the European Patent Office (EPO) visited Georgia to finalize the text of the “Agreement with the European Patent Office on Validation of European Patents” (Validation Agreement).
On March 23, 2018, at National Intellectual Property Centre of Georgia Sakpatenti, the second round of negotiations took place between the parties of Georgia and the Republic of Moldova to adopt the text of the Agreement on “Mutual Recognition and Protection of Geographical Indications between Georgia and the Republic of Moldova”.
